Interpreting Idea

1.         Toni thinks that fishing is a good hobby, but Dimas doesn’t agree with him.
Intrepreting :  “Toni thinks that fishing is a good hobby” because he thinks that fishing can train his patience. Otherwise, “Dimas doesn’t agree with him” because he thinks that fishing is boring.

2.         Abimanyu rode his cycle, so Yopie went home.
Intrepreting : " Abimanyu rode his cycle" leave for Yopie, and as a consequence, " Yopie went home."

3.         My mother cooks some food, and my father reads a newspaper.

Intrepreting : “My mother cooks some food” in the kitchen right now, while “my father reads a newspaper” in our livingroom.

COMPOUND SENTENCE

COMPOUND SENTENCE

Compound Sentence is a sentence which consists of two independent clauses joined by a coordinator with a comma preceding it.
The coordinators are;
·         For
·         And
·         Nor
·         But
·         Or
·         Yet, and
·         So.
Examples   :
My mother cooks some food, and my father reads a newspaper.
She didn’t do her home work, so the teacher gives her another tasks.
I prefer to drink tea than coffee, but my sister prefer to drink coffee than tea.

Notes   :
1.         Independent clauses also called as Simple Sentences.
2.         A Simple Sentence is a sentence that consists of a subject and a verb. It is used to express a complete thought, but they can also contain compound subjects or verbs.
