COMPOUND SENTENCE
Compound
Sentence is a sentence which consists of two independent clauses joined by a
coordinator with a comma preceding it.
The coordinators are;

Nor
·
But
·
Or
·
Yet, and
·
So.
Examples :
My mother
cooks some food, and my father reads a newspaper.
She didn’t do
her home work, so the teacher gives her another tasks.
I prefer to drink
tea than coffee, but my sister prefer to drink coffee than tea.

a complete thought, but they can also contain compound subjects or verbs.
