COMPOUND SENTENCE

Compound Sentence is a sentence which consists of two independent clauses joined by a coordinator with a comma preceding it.
The coordinators are;
·         For
·         And
·         Nor
·         But
·         Or
·         Yet, and
·         So.
Examples   :
My mother cooks some food, and my father reads a newspaper.
She didn’t do her home work, so the teacher gives her another tasks.
I prefer to drink tea than coffee, but my sister prefer to drink coffee than tea.

Notes   :
1.         Independent clauses also called as Simple Sentences.
2.         A Simple Sentence is a sentence that consists of a subject and a verb. It is used to express a complete thought, but they can also contain compound subjects or verbs.
